My MoMe Mindful MoMents Classes are a dip your toe into the 8 week MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) programme that was founded by the godfather of mindfulness practice Jon Kabat-Zinn which I completed myself 6 years ago that has helped me daily in living with tinnitus and dealing with other life changing things in my life and the daily challenges we all face.
Each class will be 1 hour and the classes will run over 6 weeks.
While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess and is our basic human ability, our 21st century brains have been programmed to scream at us to keep busy, striving for the impossible while we try to do it all. Whenever we bring our awareness to what we’re directly experiencing via our senses, or to our state of mind via our thought and emotions, we are being mindful. Many recent studies now show us how immensely powerful this simple is and when we train our brains to be mindful, we are actually re-modeling the physical structure of our brain.
Each week will be themed with a specific MoMe Card that covers some of the main aspects in mindfulness practice. This will help give you the necessary tools to introduce mindful moments into your life and build a meditation practice that works for you.
You will be sent handouts for each week prior to the first class to help you with your practice. These classes are designed to make your life easier - not to make it more complicated yet a certain level of commitment is involved to build an effective mindfulness and meditation practice.
This is an hour for you to just be - with no to-do-lists or anyone to answer to, a time of complete nourishment and to practice meditation - whether you already have a practice or not I invite you to approach this with a beginners mind as we will start small on week one and gradually build up to 20 minute meditations on week 6 - baby steps!
Class groups are small with a maximum of 7 in each class so it will be lovely and relaxed.
Along with the 6 large MoMe cards that cover each week you will also be given a mini pack of MoMe cards at the end of the 6 weeks to encourage you to keep ups your practice.
You will also be sent a guided meditation each week based on the theme of the meditation we have used in that particular week.
